In this DIY project, Janne shows how she designed, assembled and painted a custom cabinet herself. She created the design via the 3D configurator. And in terms of material, we chose MDF. The result is beautiful! Read more about her experience below.

We opted for a large wall cupboard opposite the kitchen. At 350 cm wide, the cabinet is a real eye-catcher in the living room. By painting the cupboard in the same color as the kitchen, it has come together into a beautiful whole (despite the large dimensions). By providing the cupboard with many shelves, you have an incredible amount of storage space! Enough space for all our stuff. The open compartments make it a bit more playful and are perfect for photos etc.

How I made this project

We first made several designs to play with the division between open and closed boxes. We wanted a lot of storage space, but also a place to display photos etc. After our design, we placed the order and received it after 7 weeks. It was a super simple kit! Everything was numbered and everything could be put together with wood glue. We then sanded the cabinet and primed it and then finished it twice. The shelves and doors were installed last. The end result is beautiful and we are very happy with it!
