In this DIY project, Kim shares her experience in designing, building and painting her custom TOSIZE Furniture cabinet. She designed her mega wall cabinet in the 3D configurator. By choosing MDF she was able to paint it in her favorite color. The result is a beautiful large custom wall cupboard, without having to call in an often expensive interior builder.

We have been living in our beautiful house for two years now. From the start we wanted something beautiful and practical on the side wall. We came across opmaatzagen.nl through an article in a vt-wonen magazine. We now have the entire wall as a beautiful cupboard with storage space underneath, it is as if it belonged in the home. It even turned out much more beautiful than we had in mind.

How I made this project

Measured several times, width and height. Then spent an evening doing puzzles and designing. Then pressed order and pay 😅. It was quite an exciting moment! The delivery time would be between 4 and 6 weeks! After 4 weeks we received an email that during the last check of our cupboard she found that the doors in the bottom layer were too wide and it was better to make double doors to prevent sagging. This was very nice, as it was difficult to estimate when designing the cabinet. Exactly after 6 weeks, our cupboard was delivered at the agreed time and very neatly packaged. At first I thought, is this really our closet? It was a square package of about 1 m3! I started sorting all the shelves by number and letters. And then we started according to the construction drawing! This was actually quite easy, the most important thing was that the bottom layer was very level! It took me 1 whole day to put the cupboard together. And 1 whole day to paint it completely. I really didn't encounter a single problem putting together this gigantic kit. Everything was very clearly described, provided with stickers and neatly pre-drilled. All materials were included, including the glue. Very good hinges and push openers for the doors.
