Description
Kitchens in 1930s houses are rather small (3m x 2.5m). This means you have little work space. To create more work surface, we made a simple yet sleek kitchen bar. Cozy when you are cooking and functional as a worktop or for a drink around the kitchen.
Extend the kitchen with a kitchen bar
We had two planks cut to size (mitred). We sawed the height difference with a sawing machine so that it was nice and straight. A jigsaw gives a less attractive and often less straight cut.
Both planks are attached to each other and we have made both mitered sides perfectly fit with painter's tape (see also a YouTube video on how to do this easily). Then pre-drill and screw in place. Screws countersunk and filled with a little wood filler.
Finally finished with ebony wood stain.
Attachment to the wall with an aluminum corner profile.
The dimensions of the project
The kitchen worktop is 50.0 cm deep, 90.0 cm long and 100.0 cm high. Take into account any height difference of the kitchen and Chamber Chairman when determining the height.
