In this DIY project, Nick shows how he placed his freestanding bath on a sturdy plywood okoume waterproof plate. A very smart solution that ensures that the bath is sturdy. He ordered this custom plate so that he could start his project immediately. Read more about his experience below.

Description from Nick

We have installed an en suite bath with a freestanding bath tap on a waterproof okoume plate of 25mm.

How I made this project

We had space in the room and there is no room in our shower for a bath. That is why we have laid pipes to the room for an en-suite bath. Since the house is from 1918 and is supported on wooden beams, we chose to purchase an okoume waterproof plate on the subfloor to place the bath and bath tap level on it. We also like that the bath area is on a small elevation of 25mm. We drilled holes in the okoume plate for the pipes and drain and made a notch to connect the pipes. We then placed the bath next to the tap and attached the drain.
